Antonio Candreva has been linked with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, but the Lazio midfielder is close to agreeing a new deal.
Italian international midfielder Antonio Candreva is widely believed to have a number of Premier League suitors, but he is set to commit to Lazio.
Candreva was one of Lazio’s key men last season with 12 goals and nine assists for a side that struggled for consistency.
After the departure of Brazilian star Hernanes, Candreva stepped up and covered for his absence and the club promised him a new, improved contract if he remained loyal.
Despite transfer speculation in the summer, Candreva stayed put but he was reportedly frustrated when Lazio owner Claudio Lotito didn’t come through with the renewal.
The talented midfielder is set to see his wage packet increase from £900,000 per season to around £1.6 million until 2019.
While this will make Candreva harder to lure and more expensive, it may not rule out a January bidding war between the English sides.
