Jordan Amavi’s proposed move from Aston Villa is off.

Aston Villa have suffered a blow in their attempts to sell Jordan Amavi to Sevilla.

Spanish outlet Diario Sevilla report the La Liga side have pulled out of a deal after the left-back failed a medical.

The report states Sevilla deemed the results of the medical unsatisfactory after ‘exhaustive tests’.

Amavi suffered a serious knee injury in his debut season at Aston Villa.

He failed to rediscover the sparkling form last season that he showed prior to his injury.

Last week Villa and Sevilla agreed a fee for the defender, which Steve Bruce’s side had been hoping to secure in order to fund their own transfer activity.

Sevilla had been prepared to offer Amavi a deal until 2022 but they are already said to have turned their attentions to other options.

It now appears they will have to try and find another taker for Amavi.
