Amid claims Swansea want Chris Wood, Leeds United but be wary Everton’s plans which could land the Welsh side with a huge windfall.
The problem is one of the interested clubs is Swansea City, who are finding out that their own deterrent for their star player may not be enough.
This is a crazy transfer market and Everton appear intent on proving this, as they weigh up a £50 million offer for Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Guardian report Everton’s £45 million bid was rejected by Swansea this week, who are sticking to their guns over their £50 million valuation.
Swansea may not be ready to slap down a £20 million bid for Chris Wood right now, but if they receive £50 million for Gylfi Sigurdsson, all options are open.

The Swans, like Leeds hoped their price tag will be enough to keep their star man, but are in dangerous waters.
If they lose Sigurdsson they will need to replace his goals, and there are not too many players like the Iceland international around.
Instead it may make more sense to buy an out and out centre forward like Wood, who can be their focal point.
As it stands Leeds should remain positive Wood will remain at the club for the next season, but if Everton make a blockbuster move for Sigurdsson as they are expected to, then their resolve could be put to the test.
