Leeds United fans admit that they still find it odd to see Gary Neville speaking to effusively with praise for their players.
Neville stated on Monday Night Football, which was broadcast on Sky Sports, how he was a huge admirer of Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips earlier in the week.
The pundit said: “Phillips is better at passing the ball through the lines at Leeds. Henderson and Rice are good on the ball, but I think Phillips is the best out of the three on the ball.”
The comments back up what many Leeds supporters have said about Phillips for a number of years now.
But to see Neville, who remains a staunch Manchester United supporter, speaking so positively about them still shocked some Leeds followers.
Phillips certainly deserves all the praise that he is getting at the moment.
The Leeds man has been rock solid in Marcelo Bielsa’s side midfield since their return to the Premier League, and has coped with the step up in levels seamlessly.

Phillips’ displays have been one of the major reasons why Leeds have performed so well back in the top flight.
And his importance to the Whites is set to be highlighted in the coming weeks, as the Telegraph say that he will be handed a new contract.
