It’s no surprise to see Arsenal being linked with signing quite a lot of midfielders right now.
From Yves Bissouma to Manuel Locatelli, it’s clear that Arsenal want somebody in the middle of the park – and for good reason.
Granit Xhaka and Matteo Guendouzi look almost certain to leave North London, with Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard both having left to return to parent club Real Madrid already.
And according to Le10 Sport, there’s a new name on Edu’s wishlist.
The French publication has reported that Arsenal are ‘pushing’ to bring Rennes sensation Eduardo Camavinga to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
The 18-year-old is one of the most exciting teenagers in European football right now and has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City in the past.
Here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to the idea of possibly signing him:
No experience
Arsenal must not find themselves bewitched by Camavinga’s rising star and forget the fact that he’s still only 18.
If Mikel Arteta loses Xhaka, and it’s very likely that he will, then he’s going to need an experienced figure to replace the Switzerland international in midfield.
We’re talking about a player with 161 Premier League appearances since 2016.
Say what you want about him as a player – and many Arsenal fans do – but even Xhaka’s fiercest critics wouldn’t deny that he’s very experienced and Camavinga, for all his talent, is not.
