Micky Hazard has moved on Twitter to praise Rodrigo Bentancur for his performance during Tottenham Hotspur’s victory tonight.

Antonio Conte’s outfit secured a big 2-0 win away to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Winning away at the Seagulls is never a forgone conclusion, but Tottenham did just that to keep alive their chances of Champions League qualification.

Goals from Cristian Romero and Harry Kane did the damage for Spurs on a night where Bentancur really shone in midfield.

According to WhoScored, the South American managed 93 touches – more than anyone on the field – and completed 92.4 percent of his passes against Albion.

And Hazard has tweeted out that he reminded him of a certain Luka Modric.

Quality

Only £15.8 million [Football London] was spent by Tottenham on bringing Bentacur to the club from Juventus during the January transfer window.

And you have to agree with Hazard that he’s looking like a quality addition, as is Dejan Kulusevski who assisted Romero’s opener.

The Lilywhites were linked to far bigger players during the window but, in terms of substance and quality, they’re certainly proving wonderful additions in North London and the more Bentancur prompts memories of Modric, the better.
