New Leeds United signing Jamal Blackman has revealed to The Yorkshire Evening Post what people at Chelsea said about Marcelo Bielsa.

Bielsa was appointed the Leeds head coach earlier this summer, and the Elland Road faithful will expect the team to finish in the top six of the Championship next season.

Blackman has joined Leeds on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper, who spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Sheffield United, has revealed what people at the London club think about Bielsa.

Blackman told The Yorkshire Evening Post: “It’s such a big club with a great manager as well. At Chelsea everyone speaks really highly of him.

“They said that being able to work under him would be a great opportunity, and in your career you don’t get that many opportunities like this. It was one I had to take.”

Good singing for Leeds United

Bielsa is one of the best managers in the world, and Leeds fans must be excited at the prospect of having the Argentine boss in charge of the first team next season.

Blackman proved himself at the Championship level last season, and the 24-year-old goalkeeper is a good signing for the Whites.

The Chelsea-owned goalkeeper is a good shot-stopper, is commanding in his area and is able to handle crosses.
