Newcastle supporters will be hoping their team can offer them a much-needed boost when they take on Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup on Saturday evening.

Tony Mowbray’s side will visit St James’ Park hoping to cause an upset against the relegation-threatened Premier League outfit, with a number of star players under their belt.

Attacking midfielder Bradley Dack is the club’s standout player and he will prove at the weekend that he is the type of player Newcastle are missing in the middle of the park.

The Championship maverick has played 23 league matches for Rovers this season, scoring 10 goals and supplying four assists for his teammates.

Dack’s ability to run with the ball, score spectacular goals and lift the crowd with a spectacular trick is what Rafa Benitez needs in the January transfer window.

Unfortunately for Newcastle fans, they won’t be able to purchase players of Dack’s quality with owner Mike Ashley in charge, which is a crying shame in itself.

Over the weekend, Dack scored a wonderful goal against promotion-chasers West Brom and there is no doubt that he will be looking to make his mark at St James’ Park.

Newcastle don’t have a strong record in the FA Cup in recent seasons, but a win here would provide the club with the lift that it desperately requires.
