Every club has their ‘one that got away’ – but spare a thought for Blackburn Rovers fans, who have to deal with many of these stories.
The famous tale of Zinedine Zidane not being signed because Rovers already had Tim Sherwood would be enough for any fanbase.
However, there’s more. Robert Lewandowski was nearing a move to Rovers before his Borussia Dortmund exploits, but an Icelandic volcanic ash cloud scuppered the move.
Now, another story can be added to this rather unbelievable list, as Four Four Two report that Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min could have been a Rovers player.
Son had a trial spell with Rovers before heading to Germany with Hamburg, and the rest is history; he has become a global star with Spurs.
The 28-year-old is one of the Premier League’s top talents, an icon in his home country of South Korea and would be worth millions on the transfer market.

Whilst Spurs fans continue to love the winger, Rovers fans have now learned of how they missed out – and it hasn’t gone down well.
Some claim the news is ‘just plain mean’ and would rather not know that they missed out on Son, begging that it wasn’t actually true having heard all those Lewandowski stories in recent times.
