Shane Duffy’s night to forget prompted this reaction from Twitter.
Blackburn’s Shane Duffy looks dejected after being sent off
Wednesday night was a horror night for Shane Duffy. The Irishman scored two own-goals inside the opening 20 minutes, and then picked up two yellow cards in the second half of the match to cap off a dreadful evening with a sending off.
Supposedly Duffy has been angling for a move away from Ewood Park this transfer window, having rejected the offer of a new contract from Rovers.
According to The Daily Mail, fellow Championship side Brighton have had an offer of £4 million accepted for the player, and Duffy will be allowed to leave.
The centre-back did not help his reputation among Blackburn fans on Wednesday night, after appearing to re-emerge from the dressing room after half-time without a black armband round his sleeve.
The Blackburn team had donned the armbands as a sign of respect to mark the 16th anniversary of the death of former owner Jack Walker.
With the player supposedly on the verge of leaving Blackburn, let’s take a look back at the Twitter reaction to Duffy’s nightmare performance on Wednesday.
Your wish may be coming true, Bryn.
