Rovers have snapped up the former Sunderland defender on a free transfer

Everton’s Romelu Lukaku in action with former Sunderland man Wes Brown
Blackburn Rovers fans have given a mixed reaction on social media site Twitter to the news that the club have signed former Sunderland defender Wes Brown on a free transfer.
Brown had been training with Owen Coyle’s side throughout the summer after his contract with the Black Cats expired.
But amid recent injuries and Blackburn’s poor start to the campaign, manager Coyle has taken the decision to bring in the 36-year-old defender for the rest of the season, in a move that will also see him assist Damien Johnson and David Dunn with the coaching of Rovers’ Under-23 side.

Brown arrives with a plethora of experience, having spent the majority of his playing career at Manchester United under the stewardship of Sir Alex Ferguson.
During his time at Old Trafford, Brown won 16 major trophies, including five Premier League titles.
His experience in the game will be invaluable to struggling Blackburn, and for many supporters, his arrival can only be a good thing. For others, however, he epitomises the club’s underwhelming transfer window.
