Blackburn Rovers boss raves over Southampton loanee.

Southampton’s Harrison Reed is winning plaudits for his performances for Blackburn Rovers.

And nobody is more impressed than his manager Tony Mowbray.

Rovers boss Mowbray hailed Reed after his performance for Blackburn in their 1-1 draw with promotion favourites West Bromwich Albion.

Reed scored Rovers’ goal in the draw, his second of the season.

The Blackburn Rovers manager, Tony Mowbray looks on during the Sky Bet League One match between Charlton Athletic and Blackburn Rovers at The Valley on April 28, 2018 in London, England.

Speaking to Rovers’ official club website, Mowbray said: “Immense! He’s been fantastic playing in a wide position, working like a trojan, running forward, blocking off the wide play, helping his full-back, in to out, in to out, and yet playing centre-mid today, it shows you where his true position really is on the pitch.”

Mowbray added that competition for places makes it tough to always play Reed in central midfield, but added he will continue to find a place for him in Blackburn’s starting XI.

Reed is on a season long loan and is getting his best run of first team football in his career so far.

There could be potential for Reed to sign permanently, but Southampton will take the final decision.

He is currently under contract to Southampton until 2021.
