Tottenham Hotspur are interested in snapping up Blackburn Rovers talent Ashley Phillips as they look to add a huge talent for the future.

That’s according to The Telegraph, who claim that Tottenham admire Phillips ahead of a possible move for the teenager.

Tottenham want to add Phillips to their developmental setup, with a move potential on the cards at some point this year.

Phillips is just 16 but is already attracting major interest having shown promise in the Blackburn youth setup.

A tall centre back at around 6ft 4in tall, Phillips qualifies to play for both England and Wales, with a bright future seemingly ahead of him.

Tottenham now want Phillips to have that future in North London, but Blackburn will be desperate to keep their prized teenager.

Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has suggested that Phillips is going to become a ‘mega footballer’ in the future.

Mowbray has also added that Phillips is ‘phenomenal’, praising his pace, mobility and proficiency passing out from the back.

Phillips hasn’t yet made his first-team debut for Rovers but was actually on the bench for their FA Cup defeat at Wigan Athletic last month.

It’s clear that Rovers have high hopes for Phillips, but Tottenham could now make their move for the teenage defender.

Tottenham have been looking to add to their developmental squad of late, taking the likes of Ollie Tanner and Joshua Ajayi on trial.

Add in moves for the likes of Alfie Devine and Marcel Lavinier in recent times and Tottenham are trying to explore deals for young talents.

If Tottenham get their way, Phillips will be able to join that contingent in the Tottenham ranks.
