Sheffield United have had a couple of bids rejected for Blackburn Rovers defender Darragh Lenihan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Lenihan was one of Blackburn’s shining lights last season despite their relegation from the Championship.
The 23-year-old made 44 appearances in all competitions for Rovers last season as he firmly established himself as a regular in the side in his breakthrough campaign.

Lenihan still has two years to run on his contract at Ewood Park after signing a new deal last year.
Lenihan’s stand-out performances have brought him to the attention of several clubs this summer as they look to strenghten their defensive options.
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder is thought to be an admirer of Lenihan as he prepares his side for next season back in the Championship.
Wilder is looking for a new central defender to supplement his squad and he has made Lenihan his top target.
The Blades have seen two bids turned down for Lenihan and it remains to be seen if they come back with an improved bid for the Irishman.
Blackburn are reluctant to lose Lenihan as Tony Mowbray looks to keep hold of his best players as he tries to mount a bid for promotion from League One next season.
