Middlesbrough’s Rudy Gestede and Sheffield Wednesday’s Jordan Rhodes remain popular with Blackburn Rovers supporters.

Blackburn Rovers supporters have their hearts set on signing a couple of the club’s former players – now on the books of Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday.
Rovers secured a first time return to the Championship with a win against Doncaster on Tuesday, meaning work can now begin on assembling a squad fit for the second tier.

With stars such as Charlie Mulgrew, Darragh Lenihan and Bradley Dack – all of whom are said to have attracted higher-division interest this season – it’s likely that only subtle changes are required at Ewood Park this summer.
One area in which Blackburn are expected to strengthen, however, is in attack, with Adam Armstrong and Marcus Antonsson both due back at their parent clubs once the campaign is over.
And the names of ex-Rovers Rudy Gestede (Middlesbrough) and Jordan Rhodes (Sheffield Wednesday) top many fans’ wishlists…
The pair – who scored 41 league goals between them for Blackburn during the 2014-15 season – have each endured difficult campaigns, with Gestede on target just four times in 22 Middlesbrough outings before getting injured, and Rhodes fairing marginally better (seven in 35) at Sheffield Wednesday.
Could they return to Blackburn this summer?
