Shane Duffy scored as Brighton Hove Albion beat Blackburn Rovers 3-2 at Ewood
It just had to be Shane Duffy.
Blackburn Rovers supporters have already witnessed Duffy score three goals against them this season – all of which came while he was still a Rovers player. So, it was no surprise when the defender added a fourth on his return to Ewood Park with Brighton Hove Albion.

Duffy headed home Oliver Norwood’s corner to give the visitors the lead, as Chris Hughton’s side went on to come out 3-2 winners over Blackburn. The win also saw Duffy’s side move two points clear at the top of the Championship table.
This is a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for Duffy, who had an infamously disastrous start to the season for Rovers. Duffy scored three own-goals and picked up a red card, as Blackburn began their season with defeats to Norwich City, Wigan Athletic and Cardiff City.

Duffy ended this nightmare start with a move to Brighton at the end of August. He has since helped the Seagulls to a run of 14 unbeaten league games, which includes ten clean sheets.
Of course, both Rovers and Brighton supporters had plenty to say on Twitter about yet another Duffy goal against Blackburn.
