Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta are certainly struggling to find a replacement for Jesse Marsch at Leeds United.
The Whites have already been met with disappointment in their pursuit of Andoni Iraola despite Orta flying out to Madrid for talks, while Arne Slot also rejected Leeds in favour of staying at Feyenoord.
Bizarrely, Dutch news outlet De Telegraaf even claimed that Orta had all but hired Alfred Schreuder to replace Marsch, with the Dutchman attending the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United before Radrizzani pulled the plug.
Now, an incident involving Orta from November 5th looks even more embarrassing.
What’s the story?
Well, back on November 5th, Leeds recorded a 4-3 win over Bournemouth, following a dreadful run under Marsch which had seen the Whites win just three games out of 12 in the Premier League.
As pressure mounted on those in the boardroom at Elland Road, Orta – known to be a very passionate figure in his role as Director of Football – was seen sarcastically shouting “sack the board” in defiance at the doubters.
Judging by the Spaniard’s reaction, you would have thought Leeds had just won ten games on the bounce.
Now, as Leeds find themselves 17th – one point above the relegation zone and stumbling around Europe in their search to replace Marsch – those criticisms of the board have become more than justified.
Orta not the only one to embarrass himself at Leeds
Aside from Orta, Radrizzani has also embarrassed himself.
The Italian took to Twitter on February 7th to tell fans that there should be some “white smoke” either on that day or on the 8th, suggesting an appointment was close.
We are now on the 14th day of the month, and Leeds seem no closer to finding Marsch’s replacement.
Radrizzani also acted quite unprofessionally in responding to a tweet asking football fans for “the biggest transfer flop in your club’s history” by simply responding “JKA” in reference to Jean-Kevin Augustin.
The tweet has since been deleted, although it was picked up by The Yorkshire Post.
Of course, the Frenchman was a comically bad signing, but that is besides the point – Leeds fans do not want to see their owner behaving like this on social media while things at Elland Road are currently a total mess.
