
Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to react after West Ham announced the signing of Armstrong Oko-Flex.
What’s the story?
Well, the east Londoners have signed the 19-year-old on a two-year contract, after his contract with Celtic expired.
During the 2020/21 campaign, Oko-Flex made two appearances for Celtic’s first-team – his first taste of senior action.
The teenager is actually returning to familiar surroundings.
As West Ham’s announcement reveals, Oko-Flex had a trial at the Academy of Football, where he impressed his teammates and the club’s coaches.
However, it was Celtic who eventually signed him, after he had risen through the ranks at Arsenal.
Sadly, the forward never really hit the heights people expected of him in Glasgow – one Celtic fan even described his time at the club as ‘bizarre’.
West Ham is the perfect environment

Having grown up at Arsenal, returning to London should hopefully see Oko-Flex shine in surroundings he’s comfortable in.
As he admits in his first interview following his arrival, the Dublin-born attacker has played alongside – or against – many players already in the Under-23 setup at West Ham.
That should mean he finds it pretty easy to settle in to life at the London Stadium.

It’s also a fantastic environment for Oko-Flex as David Moyes certainly isn’t afraid to give chances to youngsters.
The Scot has given opportunities to Ben Johnson and Jeremy Ngakia, while he’s helped Declan Rice progress tremendously.
