Speaking to Liverpool’s official club website, Andy Robertson has claimed that he was surprised to see Mo Salah making a defensive header against RB Leipzig in the 80th minute on Tuesday.
The Scottish full-back was speaking about Salah’s brilliant season so far, and he says that the fact he wants to always be involved with the play is a sign of just how good the winger is.
Robertson gave an example of Salah working hard for the team, claiming that the fact he was at the back-post doing defensive work late in the game was a sign that he was working hard, while also being a surprise.
“I know he’s hungry, he always wants to score more goals, he wants to be more influential in games, he wants to be involved all the time. That’s the sign of a top player. The numbers are incredible.
“He’s had a really good season, especially in front of goal. Long may that continue. He becomes more influential in everything he does and he keeps working as hard as he is for the team.
“I think in the 80th minute on Tuesday I saw him doing a defensive header at the back post, which is a bit of a surprise but he’s clearly working hard.”

Robertson is absolutely right, it’s not often you see a winger at the back post in the 80th minute of a game you’re winning, but Salah isn’t like most attackers.
The former PFA Player of the Year is one of the hardest workers in the league, so it shouldn’t be a surprise to see him pop up anywhere at any time during a game.
