Lloyd Isgrove was released by Southampton last week, ending his 15-year stint at St Mary’s after joining the club at the age of nine. The winger will be keen to find a new side and Birmingham City should consider a deal to bring him to St. Andrew’s.
The 24-year-old made a total of just eight first team appearances for the Saints but has had a number of loan spells in English football, his biggest achievement to date was helping Barnsley to League One promotion in 2016.

Isgrove is primarily a left winger but is capable of playing on both sides of the pitch. Despite not being able to make the breakthrough to Southampton’s first team, he has impressed in their development squad.
He has shown glimpses of what he is capable of during his previous loan spells but will be looking to reignite a career that has stalled after making just cameo appearances in cup competitions this season. Despite this, he already has a Wales cap to his name.

Birmingham are short of options in the wide areas and the team is crying out for a direct winger to help add a new dimension to their game.
Isgrove can potentially provide this and a deal for the Welshman would have next to no risk attached to it. He will be keen to prove that he can make the grade in the Championship and he could be the spark needed out wide for Birmingham.
