The Blues ex-boss was sacked by the St Andrew’s club earlier this year and is now with their Championship rivals at Hillsborough.

A number of Birmingham City fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Blues ex-boss Garry Monk being officially confirmed as manager of Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
The 40-year-old had been out of work since being sacked by the St Andrew’s club in June after 15 months in charge, a decision which proved controversial amongst sections of the Birmingham fanbase.
Monk – who has also managed Swansea City, Leeds United and Middlesbrough – replaces Steve Bruce at Wednesday, who left Hillsborough in July to take charge of Premier League side Newcastle United.
The retired defender helped Birmingham avoid relegation after arriving at St Andrew’s in March 2018 and then took them towards the playoffs last season, though the nine-point deduction by an EFL Independent Disciplinary Commission saw them finish the campaign 12 points above the drop zone in 17th place (BBC Sport).
Here is what some Birmingham fans said about the news on social media, including several who sought to tell the Owls supporters what to expect from Monk:
Coach Lee Bullen was in caretaker charge of the Yorkshire club’s first six league games of the season, winning three and losing three to see them go into the international break 11th in the table, and will stay on at Hillsborough as Monk’s assistant.
