After securing a loan move from Arsenal, Cohen Bramall went straight into Birmingham City’s starting XI for their Carabao Cup clash with Bournemouth.

Bramall was one of the big stories of the January transfer window when Arsenal snapped him up from non-league side Hednesford Town.

Now a professional, the 21-year-old was making his first ever competitive appearance in football last night as he lined up in a left wing-back role for Birmingham.

He did not look out of place either, impressing Birmingham fans with his pace getting forward and willingness to get stuck in defensively.

Bramall told The Mirror this week that he now recognises he must put the element of a ‘dream move’ to Arsenal behind him, and start really working to establish himself in the game.

He has spent the past few months with Arsenal’s under-23 side, and now he is getting the opportunity to work with Harry Redknapp and Birmingham’s first team.

Bramall played 77 minutes of the 2-1 loss to Bournemouth, relishing the chance to test himself against Premier League opposition.
