Birmingham City certainly deserved a lot more than a 2-0 defeat away at Leeds United, with Jota amongst those playing well.

Jota of Brentford scores the second Brentford goal during the Sky Bet Championship match between Brentford and QPR at Griffin Park on April 22, 2017 in Brentford, England.

Birmingham City have taken to Twitter in the wake of their 2-0 defeat to Leeds to heap praise upon Jota’s performance and express their disappointment after he limped off in the latter stages of the game.

Harry Redknapp’s men may have feared the worst as they headed to Elland Road given that they had lost their last four in all competitions while the Whites knew that they could go top of the table with a win.

And while a look at the result only would suggest that Leeds were in control, the game itself saw the away side generally play the better football and cause Thomas Christiansen’s side a host of problems throughout the game.

Unfortunately for the Blues, they were simply unable to find the back of the net – though they did have one effort cleared off the line – but the performances of players such as Jota will give Birmingham plenty of optimism that their losing run will soon come to an end.

The Spaniard looked bright again and caused Leeds several problems, and that made the fact that he had to be taken off with 10 minutes left all the more disappointing for Blues supporters.

Some fans even suggested that the defeat was not as difficult to accept as the playmaker’s injury – which will be understandable if he ends up missing several games – while others were, once again, impressed with the summer signing’s performance.

Here is the best of the reaction…
