
Some Birmingham City fans on social media have been reacting to the news that Xuandong Ren has stepped down as the club’s CEO.
Banners have been placed outside of the ground and flown over the stadium as fans turned on the CEO, and he’s finally stepped down from his role.
It’s fair to say that Ren wasn’t the most popular man in Birmingham, he led the club into financial turmoil that led to points deductions, and each year under his tenure the Blues have been in a relegation scrap.
Luckily, Birmingham have managed to avoid the drop for another year after what has to be described as remarkable work from Lee Bowyer, and now they may have a platform to build on.
Of course, it remains to be seen who replaces Ren, but it’s hard to believe that his successor will be able to do a worse job than he did.
