Gary Rowett’s side slumped to a disappointing 3-1 defeat at the City Ground on Friday night.

Birmingham City fans have taken to Twitter to express themselves following the Blues’ shock defeat to Nottingham Forest on Friday night.
After an impressive start to their Championship campaign, which had seen them lose just one of their opening 11 matches, Gary Rowett’s Blues headed to the City Ground unbeaten in seven games and looking to add further momentum to their promotion push against an out-of-sorts Forest outfit that had not registered a league victory since August.

However, like so many games in The Championship this season, the match did not go the way that the league or form tables suggested, with Forest running out as comfortable 3-1 courtesy of goals from Eric Lichaj, Apostolos Vellios and Hildeberto Pereira.
The result marked Birmingham’s first away defeat of the season and it meant that they agonisingly missed out on the opportunity to climb into an automatic promotion place ahead of Saturday’s round of Championship fixtures.
There was a mixed reaction from Birmingham fans on Twitter following the final whistle, with many blaming Rowett’s team selection for a lacklustre display.

However a majority appeared to be philosophical heading into a crucial run of fixtures, which starts when the Blues welcome Rotherham United to St. Andrew’s on Tuesday night.
