Birmingham City are relying on Aston Villa doing them a favour at the weekend.
Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce has insisted to the Birmingham Mail, that his side will be playing to win against Blackburn Rovers.
Villa travel to Ewood Park and, for once, Birmingham City fans may be cheering on Bruce’s men.
Birmingham need Villa to win the contest, to aid their own survival bid.

The Blues will slip into the relegation zone if they fail to win at the weekend and Blackburn beat their Midlands rivals.
And there has even been some suggestions from claret and blues fans, that Bruce should put out a weakened line up to ensure that he doesn’t help out Villa’s neighbours.
However, the 56-year-old boss insists that he has no intentions of allowing his Villa players to slack off at Ewood Park.

“We go to Blackburn next weekend and we’ve got to be honest and genuine with everybody concerned in the league and we’ve got to go there and try and win,” he said.
Villa, themselves, have little left to play for this season other than pride.
Bruce’s side are destined to finish in mid-table, after what has been a disappointing campaign for the Villans.
