Birmingham City are poised to seal the signing of former Nottingham Forest midfielder Robert Tesche, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Tesche is currently a free agent after leaving Forest earlier this summer and Birmingham boss Gary Rowett has been leading the chase for his signature.

The German enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Birmingham during the back end of the 2014/15 season, making 12 appearances for the club and scoring two goals.
Birmingham tried to sign Tesche on a permanent basis last summer, but the move failed to happen and the player returned to Nottingham Forest.

Rowett continued to keep tabs on Tesche’s situation at Forest and after being released at the City Ground this summer he is ready to snap up the midfielder on a free transfer as he looks to assemble a squad capable of challenging for promotion next season
Tesche is expected to sign a three-year deal at St Andrews to become Birmingham’s first signing of the summer.
Rowett is also looking to bolster his side’s defensive options and HITC Sport understands
the club have made an improved offer for Derby’s Ryan Shotton who spent the second half of last season on loan at Birmingham.
