Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp reached out to Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper on Twitter.

Next weekend, the winner in Billy Sharp’s battle with Liam Cooper could have a major say on whether Leeds or Sheffield United get to take one big step towards automatic-promotion this term, but that has not stopped the Blades striker sending a message of congratulations to the Leeds skipper on Twitter.
It was a landmark day for the centre-back on Saturday as he wore the captain’s armband for the 100th time during the Whites’ 1-0 win away at fellow promotion hopefuls Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
Cooper became only the 12th Leeds captain to bring up his three figures, and he has joined some of the greatest and most recognisable names in the club’s history in achieving the feat.
It has not always been the easiest spell for the 27-year-old, who has received criticism in the past. But his form this term has been one of the key reasons why Leeds find themselves in the top two in the Championship with just 10 games remaining.

And Cooper would have unquestionably been delighted that the century was completed on a day when Leeds did secure the three points to move themselves back into second place ahead of a potentially season-defining week for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
One team that will not be pleased about the Whites’ win is Sheffield United, with Chris Wilder’s men knocked out of the automatic-promotion spots within a matter of hours of leaping ahead of Leeds following their 2-0 victory against Rotherham.

Nevertheless, that did not stop Sharp sending a nice message to his former teammate on the landmark game…
