Billy Jones has called for Sunderland to work hard and cut out the errors.
Sunderland defender Billy Jones believes that hard work and cutting out individual errors can help the side get out of their current predicament, the Chronicle reports.
The Black Cats have registered the worst start of any side in the Premier League having taken just the two points from their opening 10 games.

Jones is quoted in the Chronicle, saying: “Everyone’s got to be putting in the graft first and foremost, and we need to cut out the individual mistakes.
“When we’ve got results it’s been through hard work, a strong mentality and everyone being in it together, showing resilience.”
Hard work and cutting out errors can at least go some way to repairing the damage to the side’s season so far – but hard work doesn’t necessarily translate into results.

The Black Cats have yet to keep a clean sheet in the league so far this season, so Jones is right to highlight the individual mistakes which has seen the side be masters of their own downfall at times.
But they also need to offer something at the other end of the field as they have looked toothless a lot of the time this season. One example would be the weekend’s defeat to Arsenal where their only shot on target came from the penalty spot – meaning that Jermain Defoe has scored five out of the side’s seven league goals so far this season.
While no-one can disagree that a lot of hard work is needed, there simply needs to be something more from David Moyes’s side.
