Former Rangers youngster Jordan Gibson has signed a one-year deal with Stuart McCall’s Bradford City, three months after his Ibrox exit.

Gibson moved to Rangers from England’s non-league two years ago, shortly after McCall’s departure as manager.

The 19-year-old failed to make a senior appearance at Ibrox, however, and was released in May this year.

McCall soon came calling, though, offering Gibson a trial with the Bantams, and the Birmingham-born attacker impressed enough to earn a full-time deal at Valley Parade.

Following confirmation of the transfer on Tuesday, Gibson received a message from another recently-departed Rangers youngster on Twitter.

“Congratulations @JLG27_ you deserve it”, Billy Gilmour wrote, with Gibson responding: “Thank you lil bro”.

Gilmour, who played alongside the new Bradford recruit in Rangers’ under-20 side, was prised away from Ibrox by English champions Chelsea earlier this summer.

The 16-year-old was reportedly courted by a string of top English clubs, but eventually moved to Stamford Bridge in a deal worth £531,000 according to Transfermarkt.
