Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour seems impressed by Rangers youngster Nathan Patterson’s performance for Steven Gerrard’s side at Ibrox last night, as shown below.
Gilmour has responded to Patterson’s post on Instagram with a couple of emojis, which suggest that the former Rangers prospect is happy for the Gers player.
Patterson was in action for Rangers in their 5-2 win against Royal Antwerp at Ibrox in the second leg of the Europa League Round of 32 tie on Thursday evening.
The 19-year-old right-back came on as a substitute at the start of the second half and scored just seconds later.
The Scotland Under-21 international was one of five players who recently breached Covid rules.
Gilmour was on the books of Rangers from 2009 until 2017 when he decided to move to Chelsea in the Premier League.
Patterson has been on the books of the Gers since 2009 and is now starting to break into the first team.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton was also impressed by the performance of Patterson.

Sutton said on BT Sport 1 (10:56pm, February 25, 2021): “There was talk about being banished at Rangers after a breach – but Gerrard put him in the squad and wow did it pay off.
“What an impact. He’s a young lad, he’s made a mistake, but he is a fine, fine talent. He’s going to have a big future.”
Patterson is only 19 years of age and has made just a handful of appearances for the Rangers first team, but the signs are very promising indeed for the youngster.
