Managerless Rangers have fallen nine points behind Celtic and Brendan Rodgers’ side have a game in hand too.

The frustration around Rangers was not exactly lifted by the Scottish Premiership clash against Dundee on Friday night.
It’s now over a month since Pedro Caixinha was sacked and Graeme Murty remains in caretaker charge. And while Rangers fans are growing increasingly restless with no new manager on the horizon, a dip in form on the pitch could hardly be timed much worse.
A 2-1 defeat away at Dundee followed a 2-0 home loss to Hamilton the weekend before – meaning The Gers have now slipped nine points behind Old Firm rivals Celtic having played a game more. And former Rangers striker Billy Dodds has not held back in his criticism of his former employers.

Rudderless Rangers
“It is rudderless, you can see it – they lack the mental strength to do something about it (after going behind at Dundee),” Dodds, who helped Rangers win the league and cup double in 1999/2000, told the Daily Record.
“They’re not good enough, let’s cut to the chase – they are not good enough players to go and break down teams. Having played for Rangers, you know what it takes to get there.
“Rangers are going back and Celtic are going forward, so (the gap is) growing all the time.”

Dodds makes a good point, albeit in brutal fashion. Few would argue that Rangers did not make the right decision when sacking Caixinha after seven unstable and unsuccessful months but the fact that they still appear no closer to hiring a replacement suggests an alarming lack of forward-planning by the board.
And with results turning sour, the club cannot even hide behind their hitherto impressive form under the interim boss Murty.
