Glasgow Rangers are out of the Europa League.

Glasgow Rangers have been eliminated from the Europa League.
Rangers went to Rapid Vienna needing to win, having beaten the Austrian side 3-1 at Ibrox.
The Gers played well, only to be undone on a late counter attack and lost 1-0.
Rangers finished third in their group, above Spartak Moscow.
Former Rangers striker Billy Dodds felt Rangers did not deserve to lose, but he also admitted they lacked the quality to win.
Dodds told BBC Sport: “They don’t deserve it, Rangers. They put so much into this game, they just couldn’t find a way through on goal, couldn’t fashion any chances – but that’s what can happen. There’s always the chance you can get caught on the counter attack when you go gung-ho.
“You can see Steven Gerrard’s team are progressing, but they’ve just fallen short in this one. Rapid are not a great team. Rangers have had a chance but had no real quality or guile to break down Rapid and get that all important goal. But overall, you have to say it’s been a decent European campaign.”

Rangers’ campaign began promisingly, gaining four points from their opening two matches.
Their downfall saw them attain just one point from their final four group games.
Rangers can reflect on a positive Europa League performance to have reached December still in with a hope of progression, compared to last year’s June qualifying round humiliation.
