Celtic welcome the Romanian side back to Parkhead this week.

Billel Omrani has declared himself fit to face Celtic in the Europa League this week.

Cluj return to the scene of their dramatic 4-3 win at Parkhead which knocked Neil Lennon’s side out of Champions League qualifying in August.

This time, it’s a Europa League group stage game and Omrani is hoping that history can repeat itself in Glasgow.

The Cluj hitman, linked with a £3 million move to Celtic after his heroics [GSP], scored twice in Champions League qualification win two months ago.

Omrani had been a doubt for this contest due to injury, but the French hitman says that he’s ready to go – and ready to down the Bhoys once again if possible.

He told STV Sport: “I hope to score in every game. Of course I want to score in Glasgow again, so I will try to score.”

On his fitness, the 26-year-old added: “I’m ready to play. I have a little bit of pain, but I am fit.”

Cluj proved how dangerous they can be by beating Lazio in the previous round. Omrani scored the winner on that occasion and Celtic fans could be forgiven for hoping that he isn’t quite fit enough to start, despite his declaration.

That being said, Lennon’s side also pulled off a good result in the opening gameweek, drawing 1-1 at high-flying Ligue 1 side Rennes – who beat Paris Saint-Germain this season – and few would back against the Scottish champions exacting revenge come Thursday.
