Everton beat West Ham United 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Everton ended their six-game winless run by beating West Ham United 2-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon.
The Toffees came into the game in dreadful form, losing four games in a row to leave boss Marco Silva under huge pressure to get a result.
His side produced a strong performance on Saturday though, and took the lead in the first half when Theo Walcott’s threaded pass found Bernard, and he danced past two challenges before prodding the ball past Roberto Jimenez.
West Ham attempted to haul themselves back into the game in the second half, introducing Andriy Yarmolenko at the break, but it was all in vain as Gylfi Sigurdsson hammered home a long-range screamer.
Everton claimed the 2-0 win, and whilst keeping a clean sheet will be to the delight of everyone at Goodison Park, Bill Kenwright had huge praise for one Everton attacker.
The Everton chairman was caught whilst taking to Bernard by ESPN Brasil and Francisco De Laurentiis after the game, and he proceeded to tell just why he loves the Brazilian so much.

Kenwright admitted he has loved Bernard since he arrived from Shakhtar Donetsk last season, and hailed his all-action displays by suggesting that’s exactly what Everton fans want to see.
“I love this boy, I’ve loved him from the first time I saw him on the pitch,” said Kenwright. “He’s so little, and yet he still does things with the ball, he’s defending, he’s up, he’s in the middle, and that’s what Evertonians love more than anything. And by the way, great goal!” he added.
Bernard, 27, is one of the highest earners at Goodison Park on £120,000-a-week according to Spotrac, but yesterday’s superb solo strike was probably worth every penny to Everton fans – and seemingly to Kenwright too.
