Slaven Bilic admits that he is ‘not confident’ over deals to bring Croatian pair Mislav Orsic and Ivo Grbic to West Bromwich Albion this summer, while speaking to Index HX.
The Baggies might have finished second in the Championship to secure their place back in the Premier League, but that does not mean players are queuing up to put pen to paper with the Midlands outfit.
Matheus Pereira, the Brazilian play-maker who produced the most assists in England’s second-tier last season, completed his long-awaited permanent deal earlier this week after a stunning loan spell.
But do not expect a Dinamo Zagreb forward or an Atletico Madrid-bound goalkeeper to join Pereira at the Hawthorns any time soon.
“Oršić was wanted January, (the deal) was not realised. Now it will be difficult to realise,” Bilic adds, while confirming that he would jump at the chance to sign Filip Krovinovic on a long-term deal.

“I watched Ivo Grbic, he is a top goalkeeper. I will try everything if this does not happen with Atletico, but I am not confident.”
Marca claimed last week that the £5 million-rated Grbic had snubbed West Brom’s advances in order to become Jan Oblak’s number two at the Diego Simeone-led La Liga giants instead.
IndexHR, meanwhile, reported a fortnight ago that The Baggies were planning a new £8.5 million offer for Orsic, after failing with a number of bids during the winter.
Orsic fired Dinamo to the Croatian league title with 21 goals last season, while netting a Champions League hat-trick against eventual quarter finalists Atalanta.
West Brom could certainly do with a prolific marksmen, considering that no one scored more than ten times for the Baggies in 2019/20.
