Slaven Bilic says West Ham can have a Christmas party – but in January or February.
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has told The Telegraph that his players can have a Christmas party in January or February, as he wants them to ‘do the business’ on the pitch over Christmas.
The Hammers beat Hull City 1-0 on Saturday afternoon, making it seven points in three games having drawn 2-2 with Liverpool and beaten Burnley 1-0.
The last three results have taken West Ham up into 13th place in the Premier League, and they’re starting to edge away from the relegation zone after a disappointing start to the season.

Results may be picking up, but performances – particularly at the London Stadium – remain unconvincing, as Hull could have easily taken something from the game having hit the woodwork on three occasions during Saturday’s game.
Bilic will be hoping that picking up wins, even with ugly performances, can give the Hammers squad some confidence to generate some improved displays over the coming weeks.
After Saturday’s game, Bilic spoke to The Telegraph, and revealed that he has told his staff there is to be no Christmas party until around January or February, as he wants his players to ‘do the business’ on the pitch during such a busy time of the season.

The Hammers face trips to Swansea City and Leicester City before hosting Manchester United, and Bilic wants to properly enjoy the Christmas party, rather than worry about results.
Bilic added that he told his players at half time against Hull that he felt West Ham would win the game despite the fact that they couldn’t be much worse than their first half display, as he felt there was room to change the display after the break.
“I told my staff no Christmas party,” Bilic said. “We have a Christmas party in January or February. Let’s do the business, because I want to enjoy that night out. Now we can enjoy it more than a week ago, but I would like to properly enjoy it this year and I can’t.”
“The first half was not good. I said to the players at half-time, ‘We have three good things. First, the result. Second, we can’t be much worse than this and third I think we are going to win it because there is space for us to change it’,” he added.
