West Ham United grabbed their first win of the Premier League season as they bat Bournemouth 1-0 on a historic day for the club.
The Hammers opened their campaign with a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea, but fans were in high spirits today as West Ham played their first Premier League game at their new home, the London Stadium.

Bournemouth looked like they were going to spoil the part with a dogged performance, but Harry Arter’s red card handed West Ham the initiative with just 15 minutes to play – and Michail Antonio bagged the winner for the Hammers to claim a memorable win for supporters.
Antonio rose highest at the back post to head home Gokhan Tore’s cross, sending fans into delirium as Slaven Bilic’s men managed to edge a win with just five minutes left to play.
With Andy Carroll, Dimitri Payet, Manuel Lanzini, Andre Ayew and Sofiane Feghouli all ruled out, manager Bilic was left depleted in attack, and whilst there was a debut for new signing Jonathan Calleri, Bilic appears to want another forward.

Speaking to The Express after the final whistle, Bilic revealed that he is still going to try and sign another striker before this month’s transfer deadline, with a transfer meeting planned for Monday.
Bilic was also asked about the possibility of signing Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Hammers have asked to take the 27-year-old on loan for the season.
The Ivorian, 27, is a proven Premier League striker having hit 26 goals in 54 games for Swansea City, and despite just six goals in 36 games for City, Bilic admitted that he thinks Bony is a good player – and wouldn’t rule out a move for the player.

“We are going to try to get one [striker],” Bilic said. “The chairman is going to be very generous. There is no club in Europe that has been linked with more players than West Ham but none of them is true.”
“Bony by the way is a good player. But I don’t know what we’re going to do yet. We are going to talk about it on Monday morning. If we get one, it’s going to be a good one,” he added.
