West Ham United have managed just one win in seven games this season.
Former West Ham United star Trevor Sinclair has told the Premier League Show that manager Slaven Bilic must take the blame for their poor start to the season.
The Hammers have endured a poor start to the campaign and currently sit in the bottom three of the table.
They have managed to pick up just four points from their first seven games, with just a solitary win over Bournemouth to their name.
A number of factors have been blamed for West Ham’s early season slump, including the move to the London Stadium.
Sinclair, though, believes sooner or later the focus must be on manager Bilic.
“It’s clear West Ham are not defending as well as last season,” he told the Premier League show.
“That needs to change but the players don’t turn into bad players overnight, so who do you look at. You’ve got to look at the manager.
“(He was) very entertaining over the summer covering the Euros, should he have been concentrating on the recruitment, which has not been great this season?”
If there is one area that Bilic should have been focusing on improving it was clearly the defence.
The Hammers have let in 17 goals already this season, the worst record of all the Premier League teams.
They have been unfortunate as well, with injuries to key players also having played a part in their struggles.
Some of those players are starting to return, though, and if performances do not improve then the focus will definitely have to be on Bilic and his future.
