West Ham United will not be making a move for the Brentford man despite previous reports to the contrary.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has been speaking to reporters ahead of his side’s clash with Manchester City, with his comments published on the Hammers’ official Twitter account.

Among the subjects up for discussion was West Ham’s decision not to move for reported long-term target Scott Hogan.

The striker has been in fine form for Championship side Brentford this season, but despite being regularly linked with a swoop the Hammers opted not to make their move with time running out.

Explaining his decision, Bilic said, “I believe that we have really good strikers in our squad and that’s why we won’t have a Hogan deal. It’s not a question of him.”

The 24-year-old has scored 14 goals in 25 league matches this season, and given West Ham’s struggles in recent months he would have surely been welcomed by the fans.

However, with Andy Carroll now back to full fitness, Bilic has clearly decided that he is happy with what he has got.

Not all Hammers fans will agree, especially when you consider Jonathan Calleri remains an option despite an underwhelming start to life at the London Stadium. But they can at least be pleased by the savvy addition of set-piece extraordinaire Robert Snodgrass.
