West Ham United are said to be tracking the striker and he could excel at the London Stadium.

According to a recent report from the Sun, West Ham United are interested in signing Mario Mandzukic from Juventus this summer, and if anyone can save him from his Serie A nightmare and get him firing again it is his countryman Slaven Bilic.

Mandzukic has never been at one club for long, but he has usually scored for fun in his temporary surroundings.

After scoring 53 goals in 112 matches for Dinamo Zagreb the Croatia international headed to Wolfsburg, netting 20 times before excelling at Bayern Munich with 48 goals in 88 appearances.

A spell at Atletico Madrid followed, where he averaged nearly a goal every other game before enduring a relatively woeful time at Juventus.

Mandzukic has 20 goals in 70 matches for the Italian giants and it is time he moved on in a bid to get back to his best.

His goal-scoring ability is not in question and if West Ham played him week in, week out he could rediscover the form that once made him one of the most feared – if somewhat temperamental – strikers in Europe.

West Ham need more goal-scorers and Bilic will know that if he shows faith in Mandzukic it could be to the benefit of both men at just the right time in their respective careers.
