Some Tottenham fans are desperate to see Gareth Bale kept on at the club for a second season after Alasdair Gold’s update on his situation.
The journalist spoke about the potential of Bale staying at Tottenham on his YouTube channel on Tuesday, and he had good news for anyone who wants to see Bale in north London next term.
“I can just say what I know, at the time I reported this, and I checked into it again today to confirm, and I’m still led to believe that it’s the case that Tottenham do have a first option on a second-season loan,” Gold said.
“So they have first dibs on taking him again, and from what I understand, it’s on the same terms as this season, which if I remember correctly is roughly around 40-45 per cent of his wages, which is terrific, it is a really good deal.”
As you can imagine, Spurs fans had plenty to say about this update.
Indeed, supporters were going crazy after hearing Bale may be kept on for a second season on the same wages he’s on at the moment, and they were all seemingly desperate for this move to happen.
To be fair, we can’t blame them, Bale is a Tottenham legend in his own right, and his performances over the last few weeks have proven he can still be an asset on the pitch.
