Jermaine Jenas has said on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane does not turn up in the big games.

The former Tottenham midfielder made the comments about Kane following the England international’s performance against Arsenal in the North London derby this weekend.

Kane scored a penalty at the Emirates Stadium, but the Tottenham striker struggled to ask questions of the Arsenal defence during the rest of his time on the pitch.

Arsenal won the Premier League match 3-1.

BBC Sport and BT Sport pundit Jenas has noted that in big games and finals, Kane does not tend to perform well for Tottenham.

Jenas said about Kane: “I need to see more from him.”

The pundit added: “My biggest issue with Harry Kane – and he is going to be a God at Spurs whenever he decides to retire and he will go down as one of the greatest players in Premier League history – finals and big games, I think, are a problem when it comes to what he has done in those moments.”

Staying positive

In our view, Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is one of the best players in the world and always delivers the goods.

Yes, the striker has not always done well in the big matches, but he has performed consistently well.

Would you rather Kane starred only in the big matches and went missing in the other games?

No.

Yes, of course, Tottenham fans would want to see the striker score more goals against teams such as Arsenal, but we should not be too critical of him.
