
Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to West Ham being granted permission to expand the London Stadium
West Ham shared the exciting news that they can increase their capacity to 62,500 – an extra 2,500 seats to be added in.
According to Sky Sports, that will mean that the Hammers will have the biggest ground capacity in London.
There are a number of top London clubs fighting it out in England’s top-flight this season, West Ham themselves, Arsenal, Spurs, Brentford, Chelsea and Crystal Palace.
Whilst there is the suggestion that the Hammers will have the biggest ground capacity in the capital, it’s something that the Spurs fans don’t agree with and they think facts need to be checked because they are the ones that are top of that list.
Either way, the Spurs faithful expressed mixed views on this news for West Ham, who will probably look to increase it further in the coming years.
Three London clubs – Arsenal, West Ham and Spurs have moved into new homes in recent times, wIth the latter doing it most recently.
It seems as though Chelsea, who have a smaller capacity than their above neighbours, will also be moving into new surroundings pretty soon.
Either way, with David Moyes’s side in Europe, they will be hoping to continue this forward charge and push their way towards the Champions League.
One thing is for sure, the battle of London hasn’t been at its most competitive and that will only continue to grow, both on and off the pitch.
