Arsenal fans have loved the fact that Labour leader Keir Starmer mentioned their North London derby victory during his conference.
The politician, who is also the MP for Holborn, which is in central London, is an Arsenal supporter and he couldn’t help but mention their recent result.
“This hasn’t always been an easy conference,” said Starmer. “Sunday was particularly nerve-racking.
“But then the results started coming through, Arsenal 3-1 Tottenham.”
The audience mainly laughed and clapped at his comments, although there was the flicker of booing by some, clearly they are Spurs fans.
Nonetheless, Arsenal supporters have stated that this shows how massive they are.
It was an afternoon to remember for the red side side of North London, with Mikel Arteta guiding the club to yet another win on home soil against their bitter rivals.
Arteta was part of a fair few himself during his playing days and now he has transcended that into his coaching.
Whilst the season started in a pretty abject fashion for the Gunners, winning their last three matches, including against Spurs, certainly takes some of the pressure away from the man in the dugout.
But if things take a turn again at the weekend, then it won’t be long before some Arsenal fans are calling for him to be voted out of the club.
Arsenal will host in-form Brighton, who have been ripping it up this season, and a win against Graham Potter’s men might just make some people sit up and take notice.
