Danny Murphy has said on talkSPORT (10:42am, June 27, 2022) that he does not think that Leeds United winger Raphinha will join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder believes that Leeds star Raphinha will wait for a club bigger than Arsenal.

The Brazil international winger has been linked with Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Barcelona.

Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Arsenal will hold talks with Leeds over the transfer of the winger in the coming days.

Romano has added that Barcelona, Tottenham and Chelsea all are in contact with Deco, the agent of Raphinha.

Danny Murphy on Arsenal target Raphinha

Murphy said about Raphinha and Arsenal on talkSPORT (10:42am, June 27, 2022): “And talking about Raphinha, he has not gone there, has he? I think he will be waiting for a bigger one than that, Raphinha.”

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, Leeds United winger Raphinha could move to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Yes, of course, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona all will play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

And they are big clubs.

But Arsenal are a global brand who are building a strong team.

Raphinha would walk into the Arsenal starting lineup and would play week in and week out.

Moreover, money talks in football.

If Arsenal pay Leeds what they want and satisfy the winger’s salary demands, then they could well be able to sign Raphinha.
