Newcastle United are reportedly keen on Liverpool’s Divock Origi.

Whilst Liverpool are attempting to keep Philippe Coutinho at the club, another attacking player could be leaving before Thursday’s transfer deadline, in Divock Origi.
The 22-year-old forward, snapped up from Lille in 2014 having impressed with Belgium at the World Cup in Brazil, arrived with great promise, but has mostly been on the fringes of the Liverpool side.
Origi has scored 21 goals in 77 games for Liverpool, but has struggled to nail down a regular starting role under Jurgen Klopp, with the likes of Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and new signing Dominic Solanke ahead of him in the pecking order.

With less than 48 hours to go until the transfer deadline, Origi could now be on the move, with The Chronicle reporting that Newcastle United are interested in signing him.
The Magpies may have landed Joselu to lead the line this summer, but with questions marks over the future of Dwight Gayle, Origi has emerged as a possible late window target for Rafael Benitez.
Whether it’s on loan or permanent, Newcastle may well view Origi as an upgrade in attack, and fans have been taking to Twitter to have their say on the rumours over the last 24 hours.

Many believe that Origi may well be a better option in attack than linked-away Gayle, with some particularly keen on taking Origi on loan to save money for funds on other positions, or for a big-name striker next summer.
Others aren’t quite so convinced that Origi would be a viable replacement for Gayle, but the general consensus is that Newcastle would be making a smart addition by snapping up the Liverpool misfit this week.
