Raheem Sterling has shared on his Instagram story that there are ‘big things’ to come from Aston Villa’s new signing, Leon Bailey.
On Monday, Bailey celebrated his 24th birthday and he was sent well wishes by Manchester City’s very own flying winger, Sterling.
Both Sterling and Bailey are close friends off the pitch, but now they will be sharing the Premier League stage together for the first time next season.
This is what the England international had to say about Villa’s new boy on his Instagram story on Monday: “Happy earthstrong bro ski. Big thing this year enuh.”
Well, after losing Jack Grealish, Villa fans are hoping that the club’s new signings can replace the massive void he has left behind.
Villa have lost one of the best players in the Premier League and it might be a psychological battle more than anything to try and overcome his departure.
But that’s where Bailey’s twinkle toes come into play because his ability on the ball, added with Emiliano Buendia’s creative mind and Danny Ings’ goalscoring ability will, hopefully, allow Dean Smith to progress his team next season.
Before Grealish left, Villa were aiming for a possible top-six finish and that still has to be their target despite his departure.
And whilst Bailey is yet to get out on that pitch with his new Villa players, once he does, he will be lifting many supporters off their seats with his speed and trickery on the ball.
Losing a player of Grealish’s abilities isn’t easy, but in terms of transfer fee and incomings, those in the Villa boardroom have dealt with it very, very well.
