Stephen Warnock has expressed his worry at Mo Salah’s current form for Liverpool and how he is ‘not really looking like he can beat a player’, as he told the Football Show on Sky Sports.

The former left-back added that there is a ‘big question’ mark over Salah and how Jurgen Klopp might have to put one of his most important players to the side in order to get the best out of him again.

From his opening six Premier League games this season, Salah has two goals and assists to his name, after also tailing away towards the back end of the last campaign.

When you set the bar as high as Salah has, then even if you slip up by a small margin, it’s going to get noticed.

What doesn’t help the 30-year-old’s form is that Liverpool themselves have looked off-colour from the start of the campaign, even during their stoppage-time win over Newcastle United.

It’s only a matter of time before the man on Liverpool’s right is causing havoc in the goal department again, as Warnock shared his thoughts on the player’s form.

“The big question is Mohamed Salah’s form,” said Warnock. “Six goals since the AFCON’s. Not really looking like he can beat a player. Not really looking like what we have seen him in the past.

“Will Jurgen Klopp have a big decision to make maybe to change around that front line for a couple of games? Just to give him a spell out of games after signing that big contract.

“But the fluidity isn’t quite there. Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold aren’t at their best. I put Robertson’s form down to his relationship with Sadio Mane – and I think Trent’s just suffering from confidence.”

CAN SALAH FIND HIS SPARK IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE?

It was Champions League final heartache for Klopp and his players last season, as they fell at the final hurdle against Real Madrid in Paris.

Under Klopp’s stewardship, the Merseyside giants have reached three finals, winning one, and there is every reason they can make it four.

After all, the final will be held in Istanbul, famous for one of the club’s greatest-ever nights, and the fans will be pretty eager to make that trip again.

Perhaps Salah can find his spark in the Champions League, with Liverpool currently in Naples ahead of their opening group clash against Napoli on Wednesday night.
