Max Aarons has labelled Oliver Skipp a ‘big player’ on Instagram after the Tottenham midfielder joined Norwich on a season-long loan.

Spurs confirmed on Twitter on Monday that their academy product has dropped down to the Championship where he will team up with the likes of Aarons.

Aarons’ message to Skipp simply read: ‘Big player’. Whilst Michel Vorm wrote, ‘Good luck mate’.

Bournemouth goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale added: ‘Love it skip dog’. And Fulham’s Cyrus Christie stated, ‘All the best bro – time to shine’.

Nonetheless, will the Aarons still be at Carrow Road next season because there are a number of clubs, including Spurs, keen on his services?

The Daily Express did previously claim that Spurs want Norwich’s defensive duo Aarons and Ben Godfrey, and the task of signing them may become easier now because of their relegation.

It would make Skipp’s life easier if the above players can stick around and help the club get back up to the Premier League.

Daniel Farke’s side finished bottom of the Premier League and the morale at the club will need picking up ahead of the new season.

Skipp will provide some much-needed quality, depth and bite in the middle of the park, as he looks to make a name for himself in the second-tier.

If he can take his game to the next level then it’ll bode well for his Spurs career and trying to break into Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans.
